The Challenge: A Fresh Blood Stain on a Newly Installed Carpet
Sometimes, a carpet cleaning job is not simply about removing a stain. It is about understanding what the customer is worried about, assessing the material correctly, managing risk, and making sure the result meets very high expectations.
This was exactly the situation HiCC faced when a homeowner in Pinner, London, contacted us about a fresh blood stain on a newly installed carpet in her home.
The carpet had been installed less than a week earlier. Her young son had experienced a minor injury, and a few drops of blood had landed on the carpet beside his bed. The stain itself was relatively small, but the homeowner was understandably concerned about the possibility of permanent discolouration.

We were happy to do so, but getting the equipment to the child’s bedroom became a challenge of its own. Because of the layout of the house, the equipment and hose had to be taken upstairs and along the carpeted hallway.
The customer was understandably concerned about the hose coming into contact with her newly installed carpet. So, instead of simply dragging it across the floor, we took additional precautions and carefully positioned it along the staircase and route to the bedroom.
This added considerable time to what had initially looked like a very small cleaning job. But that is an important part of working in luxury residential environments: the job does not end when the stain is removed. The surrounding property must also be protected throughout the process.
The extraction equipment was therefore used as an additional step at the customer’s request, not because the stain required aggressive cleaning, but because the customer wanted additional reassurance about moisture removal. That distinction matters when working with delicate and valuable carpets.
